Corona numbers on October 19th: Western Pomerania-Greifswald remains stable!

What's going on in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district? The current Corona numbers from October 19, 2025 give hope: Compared to the previous day, there are no new infections. A total of 16 cases were registered in the last seven days, which corresponds to a 7-day incidence of 6.7 per 100,000 inhabitants. The total number of people who tested positive in the county is now 110,719, with no new deaths, as reported [news.de].

If you look at the situation in the entire state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, a similar picture emerges. Here too, no new infections or deaths were reported. The 7-day incidence for the country is 9.5 per 100,000 inhabitants, and the total number of positive people is 738,122. The distribution of infections across age groups is particularly frightening: the largest proportions are in the age group of 5-14 year olds with 94,939 cases and 15-34 year olds with 177,443 cases.

Situation in Germany

The situation also remains stable at the national level. No new infections were announced in Germany on October 19, 2025. The 7-day incidence is 7.6 per 100,000 inhabitants. To date, a total of 39,099,761 people have been infected with the virus, representing an infection rate of 47.02%. The number of deaths also remains unchanged at 188,053, which corresponds to a fatality rate of 0.48%. The age groups over 60 are particularly affected here, with 56,363 deaths in the group of 60-79 year olds alone and 122,054 deaths in those over 80, according to corona-in-zahlen.de.

Vaccination status in Germany

Another important point in the fight against the virus is the vaccination rate. As of April 2023, 76.3% of the population in Germany have received basic vaccination. This includes a total of 63,493,268 people, while 77.9% of the population have received at least one vaccination, i.e. 64,806,784 people. In addition, 62.8% received a booster vaccination, and 16.2% even received two booster vaccinations, as Statista shows.

It remains to be seen how the numbers will develop in the coming weeks. It remains important that each and every one of us does our part to protect the community, be it through responsible behavior or by taking part in vaccination campaigns. So we all hope to soon put the virus behind us and return to normal everyday life.
