Title fight in the Waldstadion: Spantekow challenged Ueckermünde!

After intensive weeks full of exciting football action, the district cup final for the over-35 players in the Vorpommern-Greifswald Football Association is approaching. Next Saturday at 11 a.m. the district champions FSV Unit Ueckermünde and the outsiders SSV Spantekow will meet in the Waldstadion Ueckermünde. The spectators can look forward to an exciting duel in which the roles are clearly assigned, as the Ueckermünde team go into the game as favorites.

SSV Spantekow can look forward to reaching the final after surprisingly winning 1-0 in the semi-final against Greifswalder FC. Philipp Mallon, a SSV player, is nevertheless realistic: "The Ueckermünder are favorites, but we want to make life difficult for them. To do this we need a great day and the right team spirit." On their way to the final, the Spantekower team have already defeated FC Pommern Löcknitz (2:1) and SV Landhagen (6:3), which gives them courage.

The favorite role of the Ueckermünders

FSV Unit Ueckermünde, on the other hand, confidently qualified for the final. In the last few weeks they have shown that they have no slip-ups: Apart from the semi-final highlight against Greifswalder FC, where they won 2-1 after a 0-1 deficit, they also clearly won the two-sided matches against VFC Anklam (3:1) and FC Unit Strasburg (3:1) as well as FV Aufbau Jatznick (6:1). The team is now aiming for the double after becoming newly crowned district champions.

The big question will be whether the Ueckermünde team can live up to the high expectations. The support at home in the Waldstadion will certainly play a crucial role and could give the players the support they need to defend the title. The Ueckermünde crowd was already there in the semi-finals and created a great atmosphere with 550 spectators.
