Water quality as a top priority
Regular rinsing is not only good for preventing deposits, it is also essential for ensuring drinking water quality. The municipal utilities and many water suppliers in Germany follow guidelines from the DVGW (German Gas and Water Association) to ensure that drinking water always meets the highest standards. The basis for this is pure drinking water, which is used as a cleaning medium and must be renewed at specified intervals according to regulations.
Every household also has a responsibility for the quality of its drinking water domestic installations. The hygiene requirements are set in such a way that no health risks arise from contaminated water. This is ensured through regular checks and maintenance, which are continually optimized thanks to the multi-barrier system to protect the raw water.
The Greifswald municipal utilities are confident that these planned measures will not only maintain drinking water quality, but also contribute to general health care in the region, so that citizens can continue to rely on their water in the future. As hygiene experts emphasize, it is not enough to take measures just once; continuous monitoring and cleaning are key.
It is possible for the water to become cloudy after rinsing, but it is harmless as long as legal regulations are followed. The municipal utilities recommend always paying attention to the quality of drinking water and making decisions based on it.
