Concert highlight: Harpist Anneleen Lenaerts wows in Güstrow!
In a few weeks Güstrow will experience a very special concert. On Wednesday, August 6th, at 7 p.m., a great concert by the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Youth Orchestra will take place in the renowned Ernst Barlach Theater. The highlight of the evening will be the solo harpist Anneleen Lenaerts, a member of the Vienna Philharmonic. The event is part of the festival summer and brings together not only the State Youth Orchestra, but also the State Youth Jazz Orchestra, which ensures musical diversity. Again Northern Courier reports, the event is sponsored by the State Music Council and offers young musicians from the region the opportunity to demonstrate their skills.
The orchestras are made up of project-based groups of instrumentalists who prepare for the concert in intensive rehearsal phases. In addition to the musical performances, spectators can expect a varied program that includes the works of Georges Bizet, Joaquín Rodrigo and César Franck. Under the direction of Stanley Dodds, the State Youth Orchestra will work intensively on these pieces during the summer work phase, which will take place from July 26th to August 6th, 2025 in Burg Stargard.

Insight into the musical community
The Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Youth Orchestra cooperates closely with local orchestras and thus not only promotes the regional music scene, but also collaboration between young musicians. The initiative shows that such talented ensembles like that Berlin Youth Chamber Orchestra, which plays classical and modern music on its own, can play an important role in supporting young musicians.
This self-organized group enables young musicians to come together regularly to live out their passion for music. Such projects motivate and inspire the next generation and ensure that the classical music scene remains alive.
Whether at the upcoming concerts or in the regular rehearsals - the musical community of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and beyond is strong and ready to present its skills. You definitely shouldn't miss the concert on August 6th in the Ernst Barlach Theater!
