New electricity pylons on the L14: Drivers benefit from safety!

Good news for all drivers! Two impressive scaffoldings were erected on the L14 between Strenz and Güstrow, which not only look stylish, but above all serve to ensure the safety of road users. Again Northern Courier reported that work there already began at the beginning of the year. This measure not only promises short-term benefits, but is part of a larger project to improve the region's energy infrastructure.

The stately scaffolding, which is designed as a grinding scaffold, enables the cable to be pulled between the newly erected electricity pylons above the street. Until September, they will improve the landscape and ensure that traffic flows smoothly - drivers can even drive under the scaffolding. However, a speed adjustment was recommended to continue to ensure safety.

Big innovations for the power grid

What is behind these impressive construction projects? A total of eight new electricity pylons will be built along the L14. These include four masts that upgrade the line between Güstrow and Parchim Süd to a voltage of an impressive 380 kilovolts. The remaining four masts are aimed at the connection between Güstrow and Krümmel, which is assigned to the substation in Bredentiner Weg. For drivers, this not only means new masts, but also an expansion of the local infrastructure.

The substation in Bredentiner Weg is also undergoing a makeover in order to adapt the network to future requirements. These measures are part of a comprehensive restructuring of the local power grid, as shown on the interactive map VDE FNN can be seen, which shows both existing lines and those in the construction and planning phase in detail.

  1. Standorte der neuen Strommasten:
    • Güstrow – Parchim Süd: Aufrüstung auf 380 Kilovolt.
    • Güstrow – Krümmel: Verbindung zum Umspannwerk im Bredentiner Weg.
  2. Gerüsttypen:
    • Schleifgerüste, um den Seilzug zu gewährleisten.
  3. Geplante Fertigstellung: voraussichtlich September 2025.

Such changes do not come by chance. They show that progress is always on the move, and in a dynamic country like Germany, consumer needs are responded to quickly. It remains exciting to see how the new infrastructure will further strengthen the local power grid and what positive effects this could have for the region.
