Qualitz celebrates: The booted cat enchants the spectators!

Qualitz, Deutschland - In the small village of Qualitz, which only counts 200 inhabitants, a very special puppet show was recently presented: "The booted cat". Under the direction of Daniel Wagner, who not only plays the title role, but also in other characters such as the miller's son Fritz and the evil magician Sagrotan, the approximately 70 spectators were allowed to immerse themselves in a magical world of fairy tale. The event was a highlight of the neighborhood award, which the all-sorts club had awarded in 2024. The plot of the piece is based on one of the famous fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. Here it is told how the cat managed to defeat the evil magician. In the end, not only the cat and her gentleman live happily: the king is married and the cat is proud of her role as a minister. It is discussed excitingly how it all started and whether it might be planned from the start. Questions about magic power and the secrets of magic were raised in a playful way. insights into the versatile world of theater

It is particularly interesting that Daniel Wagner, together with his wife, Anna Wagner-Fregin, runs the theater in the Bergmannkiez in Berlin-Kreuzberg. However, despite its popularity in Germany, Wagner rarely appears in the north and especially in Berlin. His idea in Qualitz was therefore a rare opportunity for the residents and the visitors. The afternoon was also organized by Sabine Adolphi, a member of the board of the all-sorts club, who held all the threads in hand and invited the spectators in the village core to enjoy an unforgettable experience. "I'm not a comedian," says Wagner, who feels the pressure on his shoulders, who is often imposed on him in the comedic genre.

Another highlight of the performance was the presence of Dr. Heike whey, a veterinarian from Schwerin, who became aware of the event by an article. Their commitment and interest in cultural events in rural areas show that such performances can radiate far beyond the village community.

tradition and modern accents

The puppet theater Luna, which regularly offers events in this region, is also very popular. With a wide range of programs from traditional fairy tales to magic shows, the theater shows that puppet playing is more than just child entertainment. The hand puppets, created by the figure artist Till de Kock, offer adventure and show that courage, wit and imagination are always in demand. The productions are suitable for the whole family and take place on mobile stages. puppentheater-luna.de informs that ...
