Ticket purchasing made easy: MV drives well” app launched for Parchim!
Passengers in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district can look forward to it! With the introduction of digital ticket purchasing via the “MV rides well” app, access to local public transport is now even easier. This is reported by the Northern Courier. Tickets from the Ludwigslust-Parchim (VLP) transport company can now be purchased conveniently using your smartphone. The app is available free of charge for both Android and iOS devices and promises necessary relief for everyone who relies on buses and trains.
Ines Jesse, the State Secretary for Transport, emphasizes how important digital solutions are for efficient local public transport (ÖPNV). “The link between timetable information and ticket purchase is a benefit for passengers,” emphasizes District Administrator Stefan Sternberg (SPD). The ability to receive the appropriate tariff information and book tickets directly from the app is seen as a clear advantage.
The goal of digitalization
The step towards digitizing tariff and sales systems in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is also strongly supported by the VMV – Verkehrsgesellschaft Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. “The technical implementation is a decisive advance,” says VLP managing director Stefan Lösel. The app will enable ticket purchases and timetable information nationwide and already covers the individual tickets for Schwerin local transport (NVS), which have been available since February 2025.
“We are investing in the future of public transport,” says Daniel Bischof, Managing Director of VMV-Verkehrsgesellschaft, and refers to the funding of over 3.5 million euros that was made available this year for digital sales and control structures. The state particularly supports the expansion of a digital information and booking platform for public transport in order to increase the attractiveness of the offer, reports State government of MV.
New ways for mobility
Digitalization in transport can play an important role, especially for passengers who often have insufficient knowledge of public transport. According to a study by the Fraunhofer Institute It is often the case that conventional modes of transport such as taxis or private cars are preferred. However, modern apps and smartphones make navigation easier and create incentives for using public transport.
The “MV drives well” app not only informs users about timetables, but also about current delays and disruptions. Transfer information is also displayed, making the entire travel process much easier. Innovative approaches such as augmented reality are also being developed to make public mobility even more user-friendly.
With these measures, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania shows how a modern and attractive transport infrastructure can be created step by step. It is a path that focuses not only on the administration, but above all on the passengers.
