Passengers in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district can look forward to it! With the introduction of digital ticket purchasing via the “MV rides well” app, access to local public transport is now even easier. This is reported by the Northern Courier. Tickets from the Ludwigslust-Parchim (VLP) transport company can now be purchased conveniently using your smartphone. The app is available free of charge for both Android and iOS devices and promises necessary relief for everyone who relies on buses and trains.
Ines Jesse, the State Secretary for Transport, emphasizes how important digital solutions are for efficient local public transport (ÖPNV). “The link between timetable information and ticket purchase is a benefit for passengers,” emphasizes District Administrator Stefan Sternberg (SPD). The ability to receive the appropriate tariff information and book tickets directly from the app is seen as a clear advantage.
The goal of digitalization
The step towards digitizing tariff and sales systems in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is also strongly supported by the VMV – Verkehrsgesellschaft Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. “The technical implementation is a decisive advance,” says VLP managing director Stefan Lösel. The app will enable ticket purchases and timetable information nationwide and already covers the individual tickets for Schwerin local transport (NVS), which have been available since February 2025.
“We are investing in the future of public transport,” says Daniel Bischof, Managing Director of VMV-Verkehrsgesellschaft, and refers to the funding of over 3.5 million euros that was made available this year for digital sales and control structures.
