Full stages and sails: Warnemünder Week inspires with a cultural spectacle!
The sun is shining over the Baltic Sea coast, and the mood couldn't be better: The 87th Warnemünde Week started on July 6, 2025 and offers a colorful program for sailing enthusiasts and culture lovers. International regattas and a diverse maritime cultural program are scheduled until July 13th. Over 2,000 sailors from 30 countries meet here and compete against each other in 25 different sailing classes. The event already attracts around 700,000 visitors who enjoy the impressive competitions and the unique ambience.
But it's not just the regattas that are the focus. The event has developed into a true maritime festival that goes far beyond sailing. From the open-air “Smoke on the Water” music festival to the traditional dragon boat races, there is something for everyone. The Glashäger beach concerts at the Wal Strandbar are particularly popular, and on July 10th the well-known band Tocotronic will thrill the crowd with their sounds on the open-air stage on the beach.
Cultural highlights and leisure activities
Warnemünde Week is more than just sailing; it is an experience for all senses. In addition to the regattas, the entertainment landscape is enriched by a sand handball tournament, washtub races and even a shanty meeting. The supporting program is also quite colorful: numerous events take place on the beach promenade, and the historic fishing village comes to life with performers in historical costumes.
A particular attraction are the ocean liners that dock at the Warnemünde Cruise Center during the events. The majestic ships give the maritime flair an additional shine and magically attract the eyes of the spectators. If you've had enough of sport, you can enjoy the beach parties or the cultural offerings at the historic lighthouse, where numerous concerts take place.
