FC Neubrandenburg triumphs at the Hütte Cup 2025!
The Hütte Cup 2025, a highlight in the football calendar for D-juniors, recently took place in the picturesque setting of Nossentiner Hütte. Organized by SFV Nossentiner Hütte, eleven teams competed against each other. However, there was a small setback when FC St. Pauli had to cancel at short notice, which led to the game plan being adjusted. Nevertheless, the event showed high entertainment value and a lot of sportsmanship.
The teams were divided into two groups: Group A with five teams and Group B with six teams. In the first round, the hosts, SFV Nossentiner Hütte, started strong and defeated FSV Malchin II 1-0. Group A was dominated by the strong performances of FC Neubrandenburg and Anker Wismar, with FC Neubrandenburg securing group victory in the last preliminary round game against Anker Wismar.
Excitement during the semi-finals
The games in Group B were less exciting after FSV Malchin lost to both SC Staaken and Greifswalder FC. Nevertheless, things got really exciting in the semifinals! Anker Wismar met SC Staaken and narrowly lost 0-1. In the other match, FC Neubrandenburg prevailed again and defeated Greifswalder FC 1-0.
Anker Wismar won the small final for third place with a 1-0 win over Greifswalder FC. Finally, it was time for the grand finale, where FC Neubrandenburg and SC Staaken faced off. This duel ended with a clear 2-0 win for Neubrandenburg, who were able to win the 2025 Hütte Cup. Tim Klewer from FC Neubrandenburg was named best player of the tournament for his outstanding performance.
A farewell after 11 years
The event was also an emotional moment for Björn Schwartz, who was saying goodbye after 11 years as moderator and co-organizer of the SFV Nossentiner Hütte. His tireless commitment to football in the region leaves big shoes to fill.
