Neubrandenburg's shopping center is changing: New manager with an optimistic vision!

A lot is happening in the Neubrandenburg Market Square Center. The new manager has now been in charge for more than 100 days and is bringing a breath of fresh air into the shopping center's fortunes. With an average of 17,000 visitors a day, the facility enjoys a stable number of visitors Northern Courier reported. The change in management became necessary after predecessor Ralph Teuber returned to Berlin for personal reasons.

The current figures make positive reading: with a vacancy rate of just 6%, the center is well positioned compared to the industry. In comparison, a study by the EHI shows that the average vacancy rate in many German city centers is around 10%. While retail parks are generally the most stable, marketplace center rankings are quite positive, with only 7 cities reporting 10% vacancies in their retail parks Trade data.

Changes and challenges

“We have seen impressively over the last 12 months that the Center is facing both new challenges and opportunities,” explains the new manager. Over 50 reports about the center, including several store closures, have appeared in the media. Nevertheless, there is also positive news: even the reopening of the Figuya console food store brings fresh momentum.

But what does the future look like? The goals are clear: “Full occupancy is our dream, but when this will be achieved is still uncertain,” says the manager optimistically. Even if there is a need for further densification of retail space, according to EHI, attractive subsequent uses in leisure, entertainment and health and educational facilities are a promising option for vacant space.

Wishes and outlooks

Visitors express their desire for uniform store opening times and regular promotions in the center. A more intensive exchange with other shopping centers in the city, such as the Lindetal and Bethanien Center, could be helpful here. Adjustments and collaborations could create additional incentives to further increase the attractiveness of Neubrandenburg. The new manager does not see the competition as a threat, but as a positive factor for the city.

With a clear focus on the well-being of visitors, it is hoped that they will continue to feel comfortable and enjoy coming to the Marketplace Center in the future. Despite all the challenges, the team has an optimistic outlook, and perhaps the citizens of Neubrandenburg will soon have even more exciting experiences ahead of them.
