Paula Huth from Rostock wins silver at triathlon championships!
Neubrandenburg, Deutschland - An exciting weekend for the triathletes from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: At the German Triathlon Championships in Roth, the athlete Paula Huth from TC Fiko Rostock was able to show a fantastic performance and secure the silver medal in female youth A. From the beginning part of the top group, Huth only had to give up the Saarlander Rebecca Adam. Her trainer Jan Müller was enthusiastic about Huth's swimming and wheel performance and emphasized that she was one of the younger years in her age group. These are services that are impressive!
In addition, Huth achieved the bronze place in the overall ranking of the DTU Cup competitions through her second place in Roth. This makes them one of the aspiring talents in the German triathlon. But not only Huth was in action: Unfortunately, Tia-Jolie Lüder from the SCN had to give up due to an injury, which had a negative impact on the team classification. Her teammate Frida Nitschke was still able to shine and took the twentieth place in female youth a.
on the places, ready, go!
But the male triathletes from the region also gave everything. Anton Lange from Rostock achieved a solid eighth place under 40 starters. Enno Freyhof from TC Fiko was 19th and Fynn-Niklas Böhrs from Neubrandenburg 26. In the team ranking, the team from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was very close: they ended up in fourth place with only four hundredths of seconds behind the team from Baden-Württemberg. This is a real head-to-head race!
Jannes Gonschorek from the SCN also performed strongly and brought it to 16th place in male youth A, with which he fulfilled the regional cadres for 2026. Sebastian Gundlach was 20th and Birk Bült, who had to struggle with side stabbing while running, came in 35th place. In the team classification of male youth A, the trio from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was eighth.
A look at the next generation
Speaking of youth: Greta Ewald was the only starter from MV with the juniors and took the 21st place. The competition in youth B is due in five weeks, and the athletes still have time to prepare optimally for the finals in Dresden in early August. This makes it hope that some talents will bloom here too!
The German Triathlon Union (DTU) has been supporting the sport since its foundation in 1985. The triathlon events have gained great popularity in Germany in recent years, with around 600 events annually. A visibly growing interest is not only evident through the increasing number of participants, but also through the large number of events that have been held since the first competitions of the Federal Republic in 1982. In the meantime, Triathlon has established itself as a fixture in sports, also thanks to the prominent athletes such as Jan Frodeno, who won Olympiagold in 2008.
With these successes, the triathletes from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania leave a lasting impression. The way to the next championships is paved and all eyes are looking forward to the upcoming events!
