At 4:55 p.m., a 54-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his motorcycle in a curve without any external influence and left the road. He hit the guardrail with full force. Fortunately, the injured person's life is not in danger, as Tixio reports.
A federal police patrol provided first aid on site until the emergency services arrived. The motorcyclist was flown to the university clinic in Greifswald in a rescue helicopter. The motorcycle itself is no longer roadworthy and the damage is estimated at around 4,000 euros. The federal highway had to be completely closed for a time while the accident was being investigated.
Cause of accident and comparison to other incidents
In a similar incident that recently took place in the region, a 45-year-old motorcyclist from Brandenburg fell under similar circumstances. He crashed on Sunday afternoon, April 13, 2025, near Löcknitz after losing control of his motorcycle, a BMW S 1000 XR. This driver was the last in a column of four friends and was also transported to Eberswalde Hospital in a rescue helicopter. His motorcycle suffered a total loss of around 25,000 euros. As NDR reports, the road closure lasted almost an hour for rescue measures and accident recording.
These two accidents illustrate the dangers that exist when riding a motorcycle, especially when cornering. In such incidents, it is crucial that first responders can respond quickly and appropriately. A few basic steps can often save lives.
