The anticipation of the festive season of Christmas markets is in full swing and Altentreptow is kicking things off with Treptow Christmas. The tranquil event begins next Friday, November 28, 2025, and will attract numerous visitors throughout the weekend. A colorful program is offered at several locations in the city, including the north side of St. Petri Church, Hospitalstrasse, Speicher and Mühlenstrasse. Physical well-being is also taken care of: there are pastries, waffles, mulled wine as well as hearty dishes such as bratwurst, fries and even cotton candy, which are a must to make the little ones happy. The opening will be accompanied musically by the Cooperative Comprehensive School in St. Peter's Church, followed by a mulled wine party on the market square from 6 p.m.
A varied program awaits
On Saturday, November 29th, visitors can expect a program full of highlights. The trombone choir and the mayor's welcome open the day before the Kultur.schule presents a concert and an instrument carousel in the Fritz Reuter House. Saturday is rounded off with live music from the band “Camp” from Stralsund. Dances by the local dance sports club and the fairy tale and storyteller in St. Peter's Church also promise festive entertainment.
On Sunday, November 30th, the celebrations start with an Advent service, followed by performances by the Bartow Court Dance Society and the Siedenbollentin Dance Club in the St. Petri Church. Children can also look forward to a Christmas participation program before Sunday ends with a group singing of Christmas carols. To ensure the safety of guests, complete road closures have been set up in the event area and public order office employees will ensure everything runs smoothly.
The Storkow Christmas market is also attractive
Christmas is not only celebrated in Altentreptow. In Storkow, too, visitors can expect a festive hustle and bustle on the market square and in the castle courtyard on the 2nd weekend of Advent, as the city of Storkow website reports. On Friday evenings there are traditional mulled wine evenings with music that will put visitors in the Christmas spirit.
