The Rostock Christmas market reopened at the start of the cold season and is attracting numerous visitors. From November 24th to December 22nd, 2025, the festive mile stretches about three kilometers from Neuer Markt to the Fischerbastion. As the Baltic Sea reports, guests can look forward to a colorful program that ranges from culinary delicacies to a wide variety of handicrafts.
What can visitors expect? Culinary delicacies such as Rostock smoked sausage, steaks and mulled wine are also on offer, as are handicrafts, Christmas decorations and exciting rides, including carousels and ghost trains. The market's opening times are also very tempting: Monday to Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays until 9:30 p.m., and on Sundays the market starts at 11:30 a.m.
New winter season at ScanHotels City
This year, the focus is particularly on ScanHotels City on Langen Straße, which is celebrating its first winter season. Located directly at the Christmas market, it offers a variety of winter offerings. In close cooperation with Großmarkt Rostock GmbH, special winter activities are offered that make the cold season all the more attractive. A highlight is the KAI’s punch hut, where homemade eggnog is prepared in stylish copper kettles. This special preparation ensures a distinctive consistency and taste that invites you to linger.
But that's not all! The hotel forecourt is transformed into a snow-white sports arena for anyone interested, as curling can be done here. This sporting pleasure takes place regardless of frost and snow and is organized by the Tokon event agency. Whether for families, groups of friends or companies – there is something for everyone.
Seasonal delicacies and musical accompaniment
Foodies will also get their money's worth: the seasonal "Breast & Leg" buffet offers a selection of classic winter dishes from November 24th to December 23rd, 2025, ideal for team and company events as well as private gatherings. Due to high demand, early reservation is recommended.
And to round off the festive atmosphere, there is live piano music in the hotel foyer every Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. A very special romantic moment for couples is created at the “kissing spot” in the entrance area, where a decorative mistletoe invites you to linger and kiss.
