In Neustrelitz on July 5th it's all about music! This Saturday, the eagerly awaited state prize winners' concert by “Jugend musiziert” will take place in the state theater, and the anticipation is palpable. From 4 p.m., all music lovers can look forward to a festive program that showcases the diversity of the competition. Admission is free, so everyone has the chance to experience our region's musical talents. Northern Courier reports that the focus is also on honoring the state winners for 2025 by the Schwerin Ministry of Culture.
What awaits us on stage? From Bach to Lutosławski, a colorful mix of works will be presented, demonstrating the talent and creativity of the young musicians. The first state prize winners from all categories of the state competition will perform their pieces, and a special atmosphere of competition and achievement will be felt. This year, 73 first prizes were awarded in a total of 121 evaluations, and the best 43 participants qualified for the national competition in Wuppertal, where the talents will be able to shine again in May 2025, as Jugend musiziert highlights.
Ceremonial honors and promotion of young talent
Another highlight of the evening will be the awarding of prizes from the Young Artists Promotion Agency to those young musicians who were honored in the national competition. This support is an important part of promoting young talent and shows that cultural funding is taking off strongly in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In addition, the Music Teacher of the Year 2025 will be honored, who will be recognized for their performance and commitment in the training of young people. This is particularly important in raising awareness of the valuable work of teachers, who often work in the background but have a crucial influence on their students' development.
