Kita Arche Noah in Parchim: New playground for happy children!
Yuna.Lou and her friends from the Arche Noah daycare center in Parchim ceremoniously recaptured the newly designed adventure playground on Friday, June 30, 2025. The daycare's outdoor area was closed for almost two years due to unstable soil and safety concerns. The renovation of the playground would have cost over 100,000 euros - a sum that was simply too high for the Diakoniewerk Kloster Dobbertin daycare center with its 117 places.
But the courage and joint commitment of parents and daycare staff had an immediate effect. They organized work assignments and collected donations to make the dream of a new playground come true. There were large collections of donations at summer festivals and even an online crowdfunding campaign in which numerous companies in Parchim were asked to provide support. The result of these joint efforts could be admired at the open day when the outdoor area was ceremoniously inaugurated.
The new playground: a place of adventure
The newly designed playground impresses with a large lawn, colorful flowers, a play hill with a climbing wall, a slide and a “cave” that invites you to explore. The restoration of the playground ultimately cost around 20,000 euros. This money was raised through the daycare center's own initiative and the generous support of companies, the VR Bank, the Evangelical Lutheran Northern Church and numerous individual donors.
Daycare manager Bettina Stüwe and business area manager Jessica Sauer expressed countless words of thanks to everyone who took part in this valuable project. Their joy at the result is clearly noticeable, and the children are overjoyed to finally be able to play outside again.
Playground support initiatives
The commitment in Parchim reflects a broader initiative. The renovation or redesign of play areas is funded nationwide. The Playground Initiative specializes in supporting public play spaces that are accessible to all children and young people. The focus is on projects that create creative and imaginative play areas.
Applications for funding are also actively supported in Germany. Informative information can be found on Kompan, where it is pointed out that applications should be structured and well prepared. The needs of the target group and the support of the local population are crucial for successful funding.
It remains to be hoped that the happy example from the Arche Noah daycare center in Parchim will find many imitators so that children all over Germany have the opportunity to let off steam and develop in a safe and stimulating environment.
