Innkeepers in the Uecker-Randow region are establishing a new mouthpiece for their industry
In the Uecker-Randow region, ten host entrepreneurs have come together to advocate for the interests of their industry. A new mouthpiece was founded under the umbrella of the German Hotel and Restaurant Association MV (Dehoga) that would like to become more involved in public issues. The focus is on becoming a unified voice for the hotel and catering industry in southern Western Pomerania. This is reported by the Northern Courier.
The founding took place during a business get-together at which the ten innkeepers elected a new board of directors to initiate the association's work. The newly elected board members include Kristina Schröder-Mundt and Ralf Schröder from the Hotel am Park in Pasewalk, Ulrike Walther from Jatznicker Hof and Madlen Brückner from the beverage trade in Ueckermünde. Ralf Schröder will lead the newly founded regional association, which is seen as an important new beginning for interest representation in the region.
A strong network for the industry
Lars Schwarz, President of Dehoga MV, emphasizes the importance of this municipal association work. A strong network is essential, especially in times when there are challenges such as reclaiming Corona aid and recruiting young talent. Dehoga plays a crucial role in this, as we can see the potential of the region and the will to work together, as Matthias Dettmann, general manager of Dehoga, emphasizes.
Membership in the association enables innkeepers to effectively represent their concerns at both the state and federal levels. Dehoga has already initiated positive developments through the new coalition agreement, which provides for a permanent reduction in VAT on food to seven percent. The visibility of the industry is also strengthened by Dehoga's activities, as the central voice for the hotel and catering industry continues to gain importance Dehoga MV emphasized.
Call for collaboration
The association calls on all industry representatives to get actively involved and work together on the future of the hospitality industry. These collective efforts are also necessary to effectively address the challenges facing the industry. Inspired by the initiatives in the Uecker-Randow region, similar advocacy activities are already in full swing on Rügen, which shows that cohesion within the industry is becoming more important.
Dehoga also initiated the hospitality initiative group, which brings together leading representatives of the hospitality supply industry. Companies from sectors such as breweries, food suppliers and furnishers work closely together to politically shape the future of the catering and hotel industries. This highlights the importance of cooperation between the various stakeholders in the industry in order to establish a strong voice for the concerns of the hospitality industry Dehoga Federal Association turns out.
