Student initiative: collecting garbage for a clean forest!

In a pleasing campaign, students from the Schlossbergschule in Pasewalk sent a strong signal for environmental protection. Together with the employees of the Rothemühl Forestry Office, they cleared the forest in the Grünhof forest district near Rothenklempenow of garbage. Their commitment was under the motto “Our nature, our responsibility”. With this initiative, young people showed that environmental protection is not just a concern of adults, but that they can also make a contribution. Northern Courier reported that the waste collected included rusted metal, pieces of plastic, broken glass and even a tractor tire.

Such an effort is more than just a one-time action. Forest educator Anna Weinkauf emphasized how important it is to promote nature awareness among young people. Awareness of the state of our environment can be crucial in sensitizing future generations to act responsibly.

A look at the resources

In times when environmental problems such as the climate crisis and the loss of biodiversity are becoming increasingly urgent, a rethink is required. Also that one NABU highlights the need for a change in the use of natural resources. Events such as the annual dialogue forum on the circular economy give the topic a platform and bring experts together to discuss current challenges.

The main goal of these initiatives is to establish a circular economy in which raw materials circulate, waste is avoided and the use of resources can be optimized. This is not just a theoretical approach - it also helps to find concrete solutions that reduce waste while recovering valuable resources. This problem is also being further addressed in research, for example by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, which emphasizes the importance of efficient use of resources ( BMFTR ).

The path to taking responsibility

The students' collected waste was finally transported on a trailer to the recycling center. This measure leads to the return of valuable resources into the recycling cycle. These small steps are of great importance and show that everyone can do their part to relieve the burden on our environment. The Forestry Office emphasizes that responsibility for nature begins with each individual. Each of us can contribute to protecting our environment and using our resources sustainably.

Whether in large dialogues about circular economy or through the small actions we take in everyday life, environmentally friendly actions should become a given. With their commitment, the Pasewalk students have shown how we can all make a difference through responsible action.
