Dynamo Schwerin is planning the second half of the season: There needs to be more efficiency!
In the Northeast Football League, SG Dynamo Schwerin still has a lot to do after a mixed first half of the season. The team under coach Jano Klempkow is currently in 8th place in the league with 20 points, based on a record of 5 wins, 5 draws and 5 defeats. Klempkow is ambivalently satisfied, but also sees room for improvement, especially with regard to efficiency in the game.
The second half of the season, which starts on February 6, 2025, brings some challenges. Unfortunately, the team has lost its willingness to perform and hopes to become more effective both in understanding the game and in exploiting opportunities. “We are happy about the positive development we had in the first half of the season, but now we have to take it to the next level,” emphasizes Klempkow.
Personnel situation and squad development
However, there is also some retrogressive news for the Dynamo Association. Moritz Schallhorn is leaving the club during the winter break to gain more playing experience with an association league team. In addition, Nicklas Klingberg and Yanick Abayomi are out with serious knee injuries. This poses a major challenge for the already smallest squad in the league, as the competition in the league is enormous.
Things will be tight in the Oberliga, which consists of 32 teams this season, as there are great fears of relegation. The danger that 40 points will not be enough to stay in the league is real. But a positive goal difference gives hope and could ultimately make the difference in the relegation battle.
Review and outlook
The 34th season of the Nordost Football Oberliga is the 17th as the fifth highest league in Germany. The team led by Klempkow has to assert itself against strong teams right from the start, as two teams, SC Staaken and Wismut Gera, have already been relegated. In addition, there could be further setbacks if a third team is relegated from the regional league.
Nevertheless, the coach is optimistic. Despite all the difficulties, he thanks his team and the staff for the work that has been done over the last few months. The grown environment and the new cabin wing also contribute to a better feeling at home games. “It is important that we stand up to the pressure and draw the positives from the situation,” concludes Klempkow. In times like these, a winning mentality is more important than ever.
