There will be significant traffic restrictions in Rostock-Nienhagen in the coming weeks. The level crossing on the L 22 will remain completely closed until Thursday, July 3, 2025. The reason for this was unforeseen problems with the load-bearing capacity of the subsoil, which made it necessary to extend the construction site. The construction company Dau GmbH has been renewing the level crossing at the freight traffic center on behalf of Deutsche Bahn AG since the end of April. The civil engineering department asks residents and road users to understand the unpleasant restrictions caused by this work. Rostock Town Hall reports.
The full closure also includes Hinrichshäger Straße in Nienhagen, where road users between Rostock and Graal-Müritz are currently dependent on designated diversions. The diversion for drivers leads via the B105 and Rövershagen in the direction of Graal-Müritz. In addition, pedestrians and cyclists have to avoid Goorstorfer Straße in Neu-Hinrichsdorf, which doesn't make the situation any easier. This could be particularly problematic for commuters who use this route regularly, as the railway entrance is considered a popular alternative route. NDR reports.
More construction sites in Rostock
The construction site situation in Rostock is currently tense. Handelstrasse in particular is partially closed until June 14th, and important work on a drinking water connection is also underway here. In addition, Greifswalder Straße will be completely closed until September 27th for the laying of district heating and house connections. In addition, half of Erich-Schlesinger-Straße was closed because a drinking water pipe is being renovated here. This measure has been announced until August 1, 2025. Despite the work leading to restrictions, the city is striving to repair the traffic routes as quickly as possible and to ensure smooth traffic.
