Rügen rocks: marathon, theater and natural highlights on the weekend!

Under the autumnal rays of sunshine, Rügen is offering a colorful program next weekend from Friday to Sunday for everyone who wants to enjoy the island's nature and culture. In particular, the 17th Sparkasse Rügenbrücken Marathon, which takes place on Saturday, promises to be a real highlight. The route leads over the Rügen Bridge between Stralsund and the island, which is closed to cars, and the runners can look forward to the finish in Stralsund from 12 p.m.

The stages in Putbus are, as usual, well attended on Friday. The piece “People don’t like to be alone at night” will be performed here at 7:30 p.m. The production “Then suddenly the sky fell over” follows on Saturday evening, also at 7:30 p.m., before the weekend ends with the performance of “Ringa von Rattenau” on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Culture and nature in harmony

Anyone who wants to experience nature in addition to theater has the opportunity to take part in a WWF adventure tour through the Jasmund National Park on Saturday. The tour starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Wedding bus loop and runs for around 8 kilometers through the impressive landscapes of the park. Finally, the tour ends around 4:30 p.m. so that participants can take time for further experiences in the afternoon.

In the silence of the forest, forest bathing is also offered in Binz on Saturday, where participants can unwind in a relaxed atmosphere. The meeting point for this relaxing break is the Haus des Gastes visitor center, also at 10 a.m.

A visit to Jasmund National Park

In addition to all these events, a trip to the Jasmund National Park, which was founded on September 12, 1990, is a must for every Rügen visitor. With an area of 3,003 hectares, it is the smallest national park in Germany and is characterized by its impressive chalk coast. The Königsstuhl in particular attracts around 300,000 visitors every year and is a popular photo opportunity. The various animal species that live in the forests - including fallow deer, black and red deer as well as the sea eagle - also make this park a very special experience.

The Königsstuhl National Park Center offers additional information about the national park with over 2000 m² of exhibition space and an extensive outdoor area that provide exciting insights into the region's nature.

Whether culture, sport or nature – Rügen has something to offer for every taste this October weekend. So why not take advantage of the time and enjoy the variety of experiences on offer! Further details can be found in the event tips Baltic Sea newspaper and by looking at the pages of Rügen Magic.
