By bike to the North Cape: Höller fights against wind and vertical meters!

Schwerin, Deutschland - Robert Höller, a well -known musician and actor from Schwerin, is in full swing with his adventurous bike tour to the unique North Cape in Norway. The starting signal for this impressive trip was in his hometown on May 25th, and this June 19th Höller has already completed a proud 200 kilometers behind Tromsø. A look at the route shows that there are still 450 kilometers to his destination in front of him, which he can probably master in four days.

his project is not only a personal adventure, but also a social contribution. Höller has set itself the goal of collecting a donation of 3200 euros for an environmental project of the federal government. He brings one euro to the donation pot per kilometer, and he is currently still missing 1000 euros to reach his goal. So far, around 2300 euros have been raised.

weather and challenges

The impressive 1700 meters of altitude that Höller has to overcome that day are not the only challenges. With fresh 8 degrees Celsius and strong headwind, the cyclist is properly challenged. Nevertheless, Höller cannot be brought down by the adverse conditions. He looks at the recent reports of the health status of the forests in Germany, who say that four out of five trees are sick. This sad reality also inspires him to stand up for the afforestation in Germany.

Höller recently met his friend Alex in Bodø on his tour, with whom he traveled to the picturesque Lofoten. The breathtaking landscape of this region impressed him very much, as well as the friendliness of the people he met there. This is a completely different contrast to the wide, deserted regions of Norway, where you can enjoy the silence for hours.

cycling in Norway

For all those who also want to follow the call of the Norwegian nature, the country offers a widely branched network of bike pathways. Norway has established itself as a gentle environmental department in which cyclists can cycle through picturesque fjords, by forests and over mountains. The routes not only lead through attractive landscapes, but also to cultural and historical sites that need to be discovered. Cyclists should know that some paths are part of the European cycle path network Eurovelo, while others are less signposted. Good preparation is therefore essential - a map is strongly recommended.

for Höller and his like-minded people, who may also be looking for the challenge, there is the opportunity to borrow bicycles and e-bikes all over Norway. Guided bike tours and all-inclusive bicycle packages are also available, so that there is something for every taste. In addition, cyclists will find numerous bike -friendly accommodations and restaurants that are waiting for them.

interested parties who want to support Höller can do this on the BUND website. His tour may be exhausting, but the far greater drive is the desire to do something good for nature and the environment. And who knows, maybe others also inspire others to actively stand up for the preservation of our forests.
