Stralsund is bringing a breath of fresh air into the care landscape with an innovative residential project called “Junge Pflege am Sund”. This unique offer is aimed at people aged 18 to 65 in need of care and enables them to live independently in an integrative environment. The project was recently recognized with a special award at the Geriatric Care Awards, which shows that a really good cause has been created here. According to the Baltic Sea newspaper The project offers individual apartments with private bathrooms, kitchenettes and balconies. There are currently four apartments available, which could attract many interested parties.

Because like them too Maltese inform, over 300,000 people in Germany between the ages of 15 and 60 are in need of care. They often live either at home with their relatives or in sub-optimal facilities such as old people's homes or facilities for the disabled.
