Tollenseseelauf 2025: 2,000 runners fight for victory in Neubrandenburg!
On June 14, 2025 it will be “Ready, Set, Go!” at the 33rd Tollenseseelauf in Neubrandenburg. As NDN reports, around 2,000 runners are expected this year. The event has also made a name for itself beyond the country's borders and attracts participants from Neubrandenburg's partner cities in France and Denmark.
The start and finish point of the run is the picturesque Neubrandenburg Cultural Park, where the marathon begins at 9 a.m. on a circular route around Lake Tollensesee. In addition to the main run, there are numerous exciting competitions, including a 2-kilometer family run and trial run as well as a Nordic walking route. The relay marathon also ensures team spirit and communal sport.
Diversity for the whole family
The Tollenseseelauf offers something for the entire family. The children competed in the 400 and 800 meters on the Friday before the main race. “The run has established itself as a real highlight,” emphasizes SV Turbine Neubrandenburg e.V., one of the largest popular sports clubs in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which organizes the event. The club, with over 2,000 members and 14 sports, is known for its voluntary commitment and ensures that the run is carried out in the best tradition. Over 300 volunteers are on hand to make the event a success.
This year, special attention is being paid to an innovation: after the 10 kilometer run, the mountain queen and the mountain king will be crowned at the Behmshöhe for the first time. This honor brings additional incentive and excitement. In addition, the participants love the challenge that the run brings with it due to its altitude. It’s not for nothing that the Tollenseseelauf is known as “The Hardest in the North”.
Logistics and organization
For the safety of the participants, the road through the Neubrandenburg Cultural Park will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The organizers ask residents and visitors to understand the necessary traffic measures. Despite the circumstances, everyone is looking forward to a colorful festival full of sport and communal experiences.
The Tollenseseelauf is not just a race, but an event that connects generations. The motto “By runners – for runners” perfectly captures the philosophy of the event. Anyone who loves running or would simply like to try it out is warmly invited to take part in this unique event, either actively or as a spectator.
