The State Ministry for Equal Opportunities emphasizes that promoting effective equality between men and women is an essential task of public administration. Numerous initiatives are planned to actively promote women and eliminate discriminatory conditions.

As part of the principle of gender mainstreaming, the state government has stipulated that equality must be viewed as a cross-sectional task in all departments. Accordingly, equal opportunities officers and their deputies are elected in all departments with staff representation. These are intended to help support the compatibility of family, care and work. A specialist conference for equal opportunities officers also takes place every two years, which in 2024 will focus on the important topic “Sexual harassment and sexualized violence in the workplace – what to do?” will be dedicated.
