Blossom Festival in Wiesmoor: A celebration of continents and cultures!
The time has soon come in Wiesmoor: from Thursday, September 4th, 2025, the city will celebrate its 73rd flower festival under the motto “Continents and Cultures”. The anticipation of this wonderful spectacle is palpable, as tradition and a touch of international flair come together here. As [NWZonline](https://www.nwzonline.de/landkreis-aurich/das-programm-im-ueberblick-das-sind-die-hoehe points-des-73-bluetenfestes-in-wiesmoor_a_4,2,1920508978.html) reports, the festival starts at 7 p.m. with the traditional flower arrangement of the motif floats at Landgard, and the spectators are cordially invited to the hard-working Watch clubs and groups do it.
Friday, September 5th, will be really colorful, because at 4:45 p.m. the children's parade will march through the main street towards the market square. The official opening of the flower festival takes place at 5 p.m. by Mayor Sven Lübbers, followed by a colorful hustle and bustle on the main street, which becomes the flower mile. Here, over 80 easels from business people and institutions will decorate the streets and create a colorful ambience, as oz-online adds.
A diverse program
The musical continues on Friday evening: with “Music on the water” at the Big Ben restaurant and “Blütenbeats” in the Zentrale pub, everyone is guaranteed to get their money’s worth.
Saturday, September 6th is all about families. From 2:30 p.m. there is plenty of experience with presentations from schools and kindergartens on the open-air stage. The highlight of the evening will be the twilight drink in the stadium from 6 p.m., followed by a breathtaking parachute jump by the royal family at 8 p.m. The grand finale of the evening – a fireworks display at 10 p.m. – will be accompanied by an open-air disco in the stadium from 10:15 p.m.
A festival for young and old
Sunday, September 7th, offers lovers of royal traditions a real treat: from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. there will be an autograph session with various royal families at the Flower Hall. The warm-up parade program then begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by the big parade at 3:20 p.m., which leads the newly elected royal family to the flower hall. Nothing is left to chance! On Monday, September 8th, the family day at the fair will offer reduced prices from 2 p.m., before the blossom festival ends with “Canal in Flames” with an impressive fireworks display and light display on the Wiesmoor Canal from 9 p.m.
It is gratifying to see how in Wiesmoor not only the flowers but also the traditions and customs of the region are upheld. As Deutschland-Lese notes, many early summer festivals and tree blossom customs are still alive, and the blossom festival in Wiesmoor fits perfectly into this tradition.
Be there when the Blossom Festival in Wiesmoor opens its doors again and experience the diversity that the festival has to offer. Whether with friends, family or alone – there is something to discover for everyone!
