In Aurich, more precisely on Burgstrasse, a shed caught fire on Friday night. The police suspect arson and have already started an investigation. The fire not only spread to the hedge on the property, but also spread to a neighboring shell and scaffolding. But this is not the first fire in Aurich recently. The police were also concerned about a house fire in an apartment building on July 28, 2023. Here, a three-story, uninhabited building on Am Pferdemarkt Street was the target of a fire brigade operation involving around 80 firefighters. In this case, too, arson is suspected due to suspicious circumstances and information about a suspicious person on a mountain bike has been requested. The time period for relevant information was between 3:45 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., and fortunately there were no injuries here either, although there were significant traffic delays in the city center area during the fire department's operation.
