Hay fire in Georgsfeld: Fire brigade solves fire within minutes!
On Friday afternoon there was a fire in Georgsfeld on a piece of land measuring around 200 square meters. A farmer noticed the fire in time and immediately alerted the fire department. The extensive alert meant that several fire departments, including the Aurich local fire departments from Walle, Tannenhausen, Haxtum, Sandhorst and the fire department from Victorbur in Südbrookmerland, quickly rushed to the scene on Gasthaushelmer Street. Thanks to the quick action, the fire was successfully prevented from spreading to other hay in the area, reported Nachrichten Tages.
On site, the emergency services determined that the fire could be brought under control by quickly extinguishing the fire using several jet pipes. An effective extinguishing attack was launched within a few minutes of the fire brigade's arrival. Fighting the fire took a total of around 75 minutes. During this time, parts of the hay had to be moved to detect embers. In addition to the water jets, special fire splashes were also used to switch off the last hidden sources of embers.
