Police are desperately looking for 13-year-old Jaimy B. from Esens!
In Esens, a small town in the Wittmund district, a 13-year-old girl named Jaimy B. went missing today. As rheiderland.de reports, Jaimy was last seen on Friday afternoon at the central bus station (ZOB). Since then, her current whereabouts have been unclear and the police are now investigating. The officials also considered the possibility that the girl might be heading towards Varel.
Jaimy is described as having dyed black hair and was probably last seen wearing a black hoodie and black jeans. The police are appealing to witnesses and asking for information. Anyone who has anything to say about their whereabouts is asked to contact the Wittmund police on 04462-9110 or generally on 110.
Person search investigations
Searching for missing people is a serious matter. According to information from the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), people are considered missing if they are inexplicably absent from their location and there is an assumed risk to life or limb. Particularly in the case of minors, as in Jaimy's case, immediate action is taken. The local police station is responsible for the immediate search for people, while the BKA coordinates and supports in various cases. Large-scale search measures can be initiated by the police and emergency services, especially in acute situations where there is an urgent need for action. This is what happened in this case, for example.
The BKA statistics mentioned above show that there are currently around 9,420 missing people in Germany, with 200 to 300 new cases being recorded every day. Over half of these cases clear up in the first week. Approximately 18,100 children went missing in 2024 and, fortunately, 96.7% of these cases were resolved by the end of the year.
Jaimy's missing person case is not only sad, but also a call to the population to be vigilant. Any clue can be crucial in bringing the girl back safely. The police and all investigative units are doing everything they can to find Jaimy as quickly as possible. Please pass on any information directly to the police using the telephone number given above or the emergency number 110. Your help can make an important difference.
In times like these it becomes clear once again how important community and attention are. Let's hope Jaimy is found safe and sound soon.
