Braunschweig has a lot to offer this coming November. When winter atmosphere meets cultural highlights, the city, affectionately known as the “City of Lions”, becomes the scene of a colorful mix of events. From captivating readings to festive markets, it's all about enjoyment and cultural discovery.
A highlight is already coming up on November 1st: The Braunschweig literary period takes place in which 14 award-winning writers present their latest works in the State Theater, the Red Hall and the Castle Museum. The participants include well-known authors such as Dirk Gieselmann with “Time of Her Life” and Annett Gröschner with “Floating Lasts”. The readings start at 6 p.m. and tickets cost 9 euros (reduced 6 euros) and are available in advance and online.
A crime and film festival for the senses
It's not just literature that attracts the masses these days. The Braunschweig Crime Festival runs until November 2nd and offers exciting readings and tours at crime scenes in Braunschweig. Crime fans can look forward to gripping stories and authentic locations. Just a week later, from November 10th to 16th, the 39th Braunschweig International Film Festival will invite you to another festival of moving images that will cater to every audience with a variety of films.
There is also something special for gourmets big and small: The Mumme pleasure mile takes place from November 7th to 9th in the city center and promises sweet and savory delicacies. A feast for the senses that is all about regional specialties!
An unforgettable December
And the period after November also has many exciting events in store. It opens from November 26th Braunschweig Christmas market opens its doors and enchants the city center with 140 market stalls offering handicrafts and regional delicacies. Anyone who wants a little ice magic can go ice skating at the Kohlmarkt from November 19th and get some festive spirit in their hearts.
And that's not all: From November 29th, the new hands-on exhibition "Eating and Drinking. An adventure journey through body and time" starts in the Braunschweig State Museum. An ideal destination for inquisitive explorers!
