America's debt is going through the roof: danger to the global economy!

What's new in the world of finance? U.S. national debt could exceed that of Italy and Greece by 2030, according to the latest expectations from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Currently, the U.S. debt-to-GDP ratio stands at an impressive 125%, and the IMF predicts this will rise to 143.4% by the end of the decade. This would even surpass the previous record of 132.5% from 2020. So reported L'Express.

What really matters is the persistent budget deficit, which, according to the IMF forecasts, will exceed 7% of GDP until after 2030. This deficit is said to be the highest among wealthy countries tracked by the IMF. Under the Biden administration, debt has continued to grow despite low unemployment. An unbridled increase in government spending that began in the Trump era could result in an additional deficit of up to $7,000 billion annually. As a global reserve currency, the dollar gives the USA a certain advantage that Italy and Greece do not have. It is interesting to know that the net debt of the USA will be only about ten percentage points lower than that of Italy by 2030.

A look at the debt ratio

  • USA: 125 % (vermuteter Anstieg auf 143,4 % bis 2030)
  • Griechenland: 146,7 %
  • Italien: 136,8 %

But don't worry - at Paulie Gee's, which operates as both a restaurant and a slice shop, you can enjoy a delicious cheese or pepperoni pizza for a fair price of around $5.
