Celle is looking for creative minds for the new board of directors in the MehrGenerationenHaus!
A call for participation: The MehrGenerationenHaus (MGH) in Celle is looking for creative volunteers for board work. Kordula Sommer, the facility's managing director, not only has a great responsibility but also an exciting challenge ahead of her: finding a new name for the MGH. This search is part of a breath of fresh air that the house needs after the dissolution of the previous association board in October, when no successor could be found from the approximately 100 members.
The interim board, which also includes Kordula Sommer as an assessor, will remain in office until the general meeting on February 12, 2026. So that the social projects that take place under the umbrella of the “Women’s Spaces in Celle e.V.” association are still running - including the senior citizen and care support center and the future CARE network - a new board is needed. This must consist of at least three people and can take new paths with regard to the name, statutes and contents of the house.
A celebration for the community
The importance of the MGH is reflected not only in its organization, but also in the diverse offerings for the community. The club's last general meeting took place on March 8, 2024, which ended with a celebration including music, dancing and finger food. This year marked the club's 25th anniversary and featured numerous events, including lectures, exhibitions and holiday programs for children, all financed through membership fees and donations. The tax-deductible donations also contribute to the stability of the institution.
Because finance Hans-Jürgen Soltendieck presented the positive financial processes at the meeting and the auditors praised the documents, the members had confidence in the organization. A complaint about the lack of timetables for construction work by the city of Celle also went unheard and was discussed. This shows that communication and exchange are of great importance for the success of the club.
Volunteers wanted!
Kordula Sommer appeals to everyone in Celle: “Get involved voluntarily!” Everything can be learned at MGH - whether in organizing events or managing individual projects. The MGH is not only a meeting place, but also an important part of social cohesion. This was also emphasized at the most recent opening event of the federal program "Multigenerational House. Together - For Each Other", which gathered numerous digital guests from all over Germany and presented personalities such as the former Federal Minister for Family Affairs Franziska Giffey to discuss the great importance of multigenerational houses for society. The MGH in Celle looks forward to continuing to courageously implement this relevance and is looking for active supporters.
So if you have a good hand and want to play an active role in the community, you should quickly secure a place on the new board. There is a lot to gain - not least the chance to actively shape the MGH and leave a lasting impression.
