Celler Dementia Initiative: Summer break with important information for relatives!
The Celler Dementia Initiative (CDI) has once again done great work in the last few months. The club will go on summer vacation on July 15, 2025. The employees really deserve a little break, although the activities and support for those affected and their families continue to gain in importance throughout the rest of the year. The initiative's office will then reopen its doors on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Regular opening hours are Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. However, it is necessary to register in advance for personal appointments in the office. You can contact the initiative by phone at 05141-9348580 or by email at celler-demenz-initiative@gmx.de to make planning easier, reports Celle press.
What exactly does the CDI do for the community? On its website, the Celler Dementia Initiative offers interesting information about its association and planned events. Among other things, the initiative regularly holds meetings with relatives, such as the meeting for younger people with dementia, which took place on January 14, 2025, and the next meeting on March 19, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in the Celler Dementia Initiative, Fritzenwiese 117. These meetings, led by Frank Neumann and Eva Küpers, welcome new faces, so that those who decide to do so at short notice are also welcome to drop by - even without registering. The initiative's website also states that the CDI offers a confidential platform for self-help groups, which gives relatives the opportunity to exchange ideas and support each other Celler Dementia Initiative highlights.
Offers and support for relatives
How important exchange in self-help groups is is shown again and again. Relatives have the chance to share their worries and fears and discuss challenges related to care. Topics such as long-term care insurance, medical questions or how to deal with the illness are addressed, often with the involvement of experts. Special groups are also available for younger relatives and people with certain dementias, such as frontotemporal dementia. Information about these groups is usually available through local care centers or self-help contact points, emphasizes Dementia guide.
A particular focus is on supporting relatives through the CDI. In addition to the regular meetings, contact points are offered for questions about dementia. In addition, seminars for relatives are planned in collaboration with the Barmer Pflegekasse. These include StartUp and FollowUp seminars, a real joker if you have the feeling that your strength is threatening to dwindle when it comes to care. The meetings take place at different locations and offer participants valuable support. The Caring Relatives Initiative (IPAX), which meets every third Tuesday of the month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., is another important meeting point - the next meeting is on the program on January 21, 2025.
