Dachshund weekend thrills in Wathlingen: breeding show in the 4G Park!

Last weekend, the 4G Park in Wathlingen was the attraction for dachshund lovers from Germany, Switzerland and Denmark. The two-day special exhibition and breeding show organized by the German Teckel Club (DTK) and the Celle group took place on October 25th and 26th. The event was all about the popular dachshund breed, and the hustle and bustle began on Saturday morning when the first participants arrived at 9 a.m.

A total of 63 dogs were registered for the special exhibition on Saturday, while an additional 27 animals presented themselves for the breeding show. On Sunday, visitors enjoyed another special exhibition that attracted 50 registrations. The diverse classes included not only the “Puppy Class” for dachshunds under 6 months old, but also youth, intermediate, champion, utility and veteran classes, in which the dogs were evaluated on appearance, build, gait and behavior.

A festival for dog lovers

A special highlight was a 13-year-old short-haired dachshund, who took the hearts of visitors by storm with his impressive endurance and calmness. The hunting horn brass group from Hegering Flotwedel contributed to the musical accompaniment on Sunday and created the right atmosphere. “The event shows the versatility of the Teckel breed,” summed up the Celle group in the DTK and drew a positive conclusion: numerous visitors, satisfied exhibitors and a smooth process ensured the success of the event.

In addition to the competitions, there was also a small fair that offered supplies, food and accessories for dogs. Anyone who wanted to find out more about Teckel breeding could find further information on the DTK website, www.teckelklub-celle.de.

Smooth through digital solutions

The organization of the exhibition benefited from modern digital tools. Exhibitors were able to easily register their dogs online via the Teckel exhibition platform. An email confirmation system informed participants that their reports had been received, while the exhibition management always kept track of the data. The creation of registration confirmations and certificates also went smoothly and efficiently thanks to the digital tools.

These approaches to improving exhibition organization could be even more widespread in the future and show how technology also has a good hand in the field of animal exhibitions to create real events for everyone involved.

Overall, one thing is certain: the dachshund weekend in Wathlingen was not just a competition, but a big celebration for the whole family that focused on the love for these charming dogs. From young to old, everyone found their place here - with a cup of coffee and the wonderful dachshunds in view!
