Youth Festival Summer Stage 2025: A hit for young people in Celle!
On Sunday, July 6, 2025, the highly anticipated youth festival “Summer Stage 2025” took place in the CD barracks. Despite changeable weather and slightly overcast skies, the event was able to inspire young people from Celle and the surrounding area. With a wide range of free hands-on activities and exciting live music, the day was a complete success. The organizer, the Celle Youth Forum, reports a consistently positive response. Verena Schössow from the Youth Forum was enthusiastic about the participation and commitment of the young people.
The festival, which was intended for young people aged 10 and over, offered a variety of activities that left nothing to be desired. Among other things, visitors were able to live out their creativity with the graffiti offering with the artist Daniel Wunn, take spectacular souvenir photos in the photo box or be enchanted in festival styles by “Frau Schminkzauber” at the make-up station. In addition, XXL Jenga and XXL billiards with footballs were in great demand as leisure options. A VR glasses station was also part of the extensive program, which invited people to feast on snacks and drinks at fair prices.
Musical highlight and relaxed atmosphere
The musical highlights of the evening began at 6:00 p.m. with the performances by the youth bands “New York Strippers” and “Backroom (CRI)”. From 8 p.m., DJ “PP Music 4 Generation” filled the courtyard with beats and created a unique open-air party. The chilled retreats in the inner courtyard were very popular with the young people, who were able to relax between the individual program items.
The idea for the “Summer Stage” emerged from the youth conference in January and has now become an integral part of the Celle event calendar. Funding from the Federal Ministry for Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as part of the “Living Democracy” action program made a significant contribution to the realization of this event. In the future, the Youth Forum is planning an exciting educational trip in the fall to further promote exchange among young people.
Funding for future projects
Another important aspect is the continued support of projects for young people, which are implemented through the “Future Package for Exercise, Culture and Health”. The program, which will continue to provide seven million euros in 2024, focuses on the active participation of children and young people in shaping living environments. Interested parties can now submit applications to support their own projects and to put their ideas into action, as the BMFSFJ reports.
Overall, the “Summer Stage 2025” youth festival shows how important it is to offer young people a platform. It not only creates space for creativity and community, but also makes a significant contribution to strengthening young people's democratic skills and self-efficacy. Celle is looking optimistically into the future and is looking forward to many more exciting activities for the next generation!
