Mirja du Mont: Courageous appearance in the jungle – fight against fear!
The 19th season of the jungle camp starts on January 23, 2026 on RTL and RTL+. Among the participants is the versatile Mirja du Mont, who has been through a lot in recent years. The 50-year-old is not only an actress, but also a remarkable personality who wants to make herself visible with her own story of psychological challenges. According to her own statement, she wants to encourage others in the jungle camp and show them that you can get up again even after difficult times.
Mirja, born on January 21, 1976 in Celle, looks back on an eventful biography. After initially completing training as a veterinary technical assistant in Hanover, she later ventured into the world of psychology and social sciences. She owes her fame, among other things, to her role in the film “7 Dwarves – The Forest is Not Enough” and countless TV appearances.
A personal battle
The last few years have not been easy for Mirja du Mont. Since 2018 she has been suffering from a panic and anxiety disorder, which was exacerbated by sudden hearing loss. “During the worst time, I couldn’t drive a car or use the S-Bahn,” she remembers. However, after a hospital stay to treat her anxiety, she has made progress. According to Focus, by participating in the jungle camp she not only wants to test her own limits, but also other affected people say, “There is hope.”
In addition to her health challenges, Mirja also experienced a turning point in her personal life. After 16 years of marriage to actor Sky du Mont, with whom she has two children, the separation came. This decision was amicable, but Mirja revealed on the reality show “Six Mothers” how she sometimes felt restricted during the marriage. It should be mentioned that despite the separation, she maintains a good relationship with Sky, especially with regard to their children.
Mental health in the digital age
The digital world represents a challenge for many, including Mirja. Social media can be both a source of support and a trigger for psychological problems. Studies show that constant confrontation with idealized representations of life and appearance can lead to self-doubt. According to Research and Knowledge, not only is the influence on self-perception problematic, but the constant pursuit of confirmation through likes and shares can also significantly distort self-esteem. This makes it all the more important to set digital boundaries and find a healthy way to use social media.
Mirja du Mont has set herself the goal of sharing her experiences in her book “Don’t Panic, Blondie!” to work through and teach children that it's okay not to be perfect. Despite her challenges, she radiates a strong and persevering personality that should not be underestimated in the jungle camp.
It will be exciting for the fans to see how Mirja du Mont will do in the jungle. Her story is inspiring and shows that the path to improvement can also be associated with setbacks. We can't wait to see what the next season of the jungle camp will bring!
