Poitiers celebrates: five new records at the international meeting!
Last weekend Poitiers experienced a sporting highlight with the international meeting in the Rebeilleau stadium. The nine editions of this event were not only a complete success for the organizers, but also a showcase for outstanding sporting achievements. La Nouvelle République reports that five new records were set: for men in the 400 meters, 800 meters and long jump, and for women in the 100 meters and 1,500 meters.
The mood among the athletes was overwhelming. The president of the local athletics committee of Vienne was enthusiastic about the outstanding performances and commitment of the participants. Athletes from all over France took the opportunity to put their skills to the test and spent a night at CREPS, where their accommodation costs including breakfast were covered. This helped the athletes to prepare well before an important competition.
