Route du Rock 2025: Festival celebration with 27,000 enthusiastic fans!
What a spectacle! On August 17, 2025, the Route du Rock 2025 festival attracted more than 27,000 music lovers to the coast, an increase of 2,000 visitors compared to the previous year. Across four evenings, guests could expect a colorful program with artists who made fans' hearts beat faster. Age1Fo reports on the impressive opening and the rousing performances.
The third night began with Irish dream pop artist Maria Somerville. Their set was introduced by gentle sounds and built up to a powerful finale with the song “Spring” from their album “Luster”. The influences of bands like Cocteau Twins and Slowdive were unmistakable and immediately captivated the audience.
Diversity of music
After Somerville, Danish singer-songwriter Fine performed, celebrating her first solo performance on a major stage. Their set began impressively with “A Star / A/B” and ended with the emotional song “Smile?”, which was sure to give you goosebumps. The Irish-British punk band M(h)aol also impressed with feminist and intersectional themes and presented songs from their EP “Gender Studies” as well as from the album “Attachment Styles”. Here, quiet passages contrasted with haunting sound, which was well received by the audience.
Trentemøller, the Danish musician, brought a mixture of electro, rock and cold wave to the stage. His set included songs from the new album “Dreamweaver” and created a buzz as the audience cheered loudly. The Canadian band Suuns rounded off the musical experience and presented hits from their work “The Breaks”. The crowning finale of the evening belonged to Kraftwerk, the pioneers of electronic music, who once again got the audience singing along with classics like “Numbers” and “Autobahn”.
Special features and outlook
The final chord was set by Sega Bodega, who presented their new live format “Unadulter8”, combined with visual projections that gave the evening an additional dimension. The positive feedback from guests and the summery weather contributed to the successful atmosphere of the festival.
But not everything was perfect. Some organizational improvements are needed, especially in terms of food and toilets. Nevertheless, the positive feedback and anticipation for the next edition of the festival outweigh the negatives.
Those interested should also take a look at the new possibilities for using media. The introduction of the HGTV GO app promises access to a new level of entertainment while relaxing between events. Here, viewers can not only access a variety of HGTV series but also stream live TV stories on multiple devices. This makes binge-watching child's play!
We can’t wait to see what the future holds and are already looking forward to the next “Route du Rock”!
