Eventful event days in Delmenhorst and Ganderkesee from 22nd to 25th. August!

There will be a lively event culture in the region between Delmenhorst and Ganderkesee on the weekend from August 22nd to 24th, 2025. As summer draws to a close, people are drawn to the area for numerous festivities and special events. A real highlight is the rock 'n' roll festival, which takes place at Ganderkesee airfield and brings the atmosphere of the 50s and 60s to life.

The rock 'n' roll festival not only attracts fans of historical automobiles, music lovers also get their money's worth. Visitors can look forward to live bands and DJs who will keep the atmosphere going during rockabilly, jive and swing dance classes. There is also an impressive exhibition of around 80 historic cars and old aircraft (built up to 1959). A special highlight is the planned skydiving show. The band “The Firebirds” will provide top musical performances on Saturday evening, while the venue at Ganderkesee Airport will provide a special ambience. You can find more information about the festival on the allevents.in website.

Family friendly events

There is also a lot to discover for families. Particularly noteworthy is the open day at the return consumption center in Delmenhorst, which takes place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Here, visitors can take a look behind the scenes of waste management, and there is also a large flea market on site.

Magical moments also await in the Müller Cultural Center. A poetry slam will take place on Friday evening, with presenters Sebastian Butte and Simeon Buß providing entertaining hours. The tickets cost 18 euros, reduced prices 8 euros. On Sunday the children's theater with “Störtebeker's Treasure” is on the program, ideal for children aged 4 and over.

Cultural highlights in the region

The Arp Schnitger Festival in Ganderkesee adds another cultural highlight to the program on Sunday at 7 p.m. with a final concert in the St. Cyprian and Cornelius Church. The presentation of works by Johann Christoph Bach and Johann Sebastian Bach promises musical enjoyment for connoisseurs and lovers of classical sounds. For other events and festivals in Lower Saxony, the Concert Calendar offers comprehensive information.

Additionally, flea markets take place on Sundays in both Delmenhorst and Falkensteinsee. The flea market in Delmenhorst is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry is free, and stand fees of 22 euros for two meters are more than fair. The flea market at Falkensteinsee starts at 9 a.m. and also offers free entry with a stand fee of 10 euros for three meters.

The musical conclusion of the weekend is the Garden Culture Music Festival in Großenkneten, Harpstedt, Wildeshausen and Stuhr, where four concerts take place on Sunday. With free entry and a variety of performances, there is something for every age group.

The coming days are truly packed with activities that will delight young and old. There really should be something for every taste!
