Peace concert in Delmenhorst: Voices for freedom and justice!

At a time when peace and solidarity seem more important than ever, the Turkish Workers' Association in Delmenhorst invites you to a special peace concert on Saturday, October 25th. Under the motto “Our voice is peace, our melody is freedom,” an impressive musical program will be performed at the Villa Family Center, Oldenburger Straße 49, from 6 p.m. The entry price is 12 euros per person, and tickets are available at the box office, as Weser-Kurier reports.

The concert, directed by Yekbun Sincar, will feature a women's choir singing in four different languages: Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic and Armenian. The chairman of the workers' association, Vahit Oflazoglu, emphasizes the intention of the event to set an example against war, discrimination and inequality and to advocate for peace, justice and solidarity.

A sign for peace

Peace initiatives like these reflect a growing appeal that is also being heard internationally. According to the platform Live Peace, there is war in over 60 countries and millions of people are suffering from the consequences. Peace is seen as the greatest challenge of our time and a cornerstone for a better future.

Initiatives like “Live Peace” invite people around the world to raise their voices through music. In many cities, on the International Day of Peace, people gather for citizens' concerts to stand up for peace and express their solidarity.

Musical versatility for a good cause

The Delmenhorst concert is not the only initiative to promote peace through music. A peace concert also took place in Berlin on September 25, 2024 in the Gethsemane Church, which was organized by various choirs and musicians from several countries. In addition to greetings from important personalities, Beethoven's 9th Symphony was performed and current social issues such as flight and expulsion were discussed, as the Kulturstiftung reported.

These concerts not only serve as entertainment, but also as a creative expression of cohesion and human responsibility. Musical events that campaign against discrimination and for freedom and democracy are becoming increasingly popular and are an important form of protest.

The upcoming peace concert in Delmenhorst not only offers a platform for cultural exchange, but also an opportunity to actively advocate for change. In the melody of peace, every individual could find a voice to defend themselves against the unjust currents of the time and to stand up for togetherness.
