In any case, school management must ensure that legal guardians are informed promptly about the changes and that the appropriate supervision duties are carried out for students who come to school despite the cancellation of classes. In the primary sector it is necessary that pupils are only sent home with the consent of their parents.

New regulations for heat-free

The adjustments to the heat-free regulation are not only a reaction to the extreme heat events that have increased in Lower Saxony in recent years, but also to suggestions from the state student council. Despite the extreme temperatures, no heat exemption has been allowed for up to five lessons. However, these regulations have changed. Now, when temperatures are high, lessons can continue as distance learning or in the form of self-organized learning, which can be a real relief for many students.
