Youth festival in Delmenhorst: Together against racism and war!

Rathausplatz, Delmenhorst, Deutschland - On Saturday, June 28th, an eventful youth festival will take place in Delmenhorst, which sets a clear sign against racism and war. From 3:30 p.m., the youth department of the association of workers and young people from Turkey invites you to Rathausplatz. The festival bears the motto "Together for our future - youth against racism and war" and has set itself the goal of promoting awareness of social issues and social commitment to young people. A diverse program is offered that includes both musical and creative performances. Among other things, the rappers Philrio, Lil Rush and Chinyere will perform, while the Beuss dance school will heat the mood with a live performance.

Entertainment is plentiful: Various offers such as delicious food, refreshing drinks, screen printing, henna tattoos and a photo stand are offered-and all with free admission. The festival not only offers a space for fun, but also a platform for important social topics.

a youth festival for all

At the same time, another youth festival will take place on June 28th in Oberursel, which is under the motto "Celebrate Democracy, Design and Enjoy and enjoy". Here young people between the ages of 12 and 21 are invited to experience and actively shape democracy in the rushmoor park from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. The festival, which was originally started as a youth reception, is organized by the Oberursel youth council and is supported by the city administration. It is also aimed at a broad target group and offers many hands -on activities and discussion groups.

There will also be a varied program there, including a “marketplace of diversity” for local clubs and groups. Guests can look forward to creative contributions, moderations by Rico Montero by Heartbeat Edutainment and speeches by city councilor Lothar Köhler and Mayor Antje Runge.

platform for youth culture and commitment

Both events reflect the trend that youth culture and socio -political engagement are increasingly focusing on. The Rise platform plays an important role in this, which is dedicated to youth culture, media education and democracy. Over 40 films on socio -political topics were produced as part of the Rise model project. Accompanying this, materials for pedagogical work are available that deal with topics such as gender, social criticism and racism. Such projects not only promote the awareness of the young generation, but also show how they can actively contribute to their own future.

Overall, both festivals not only offer entertainment, but also make a valuable contribution to social discourses on racism, democracy and diversity. Those responsible hope that many young people take the opportunity to become part of these important initiatives.
