Big garden event in Emden: Ostmann Intratuin opens on August 21st!
On Wednesday, August 21, 2025, a new place for garden lovers and nature lovers will be ceremoniously opened in Emden: the Ostmann Intratuin Garden Center at Württemberger Straße 12. The event starts at 9 a.m. and promises to be a real eye-catcher with an extensive program. Under the motto “At home in nature”, the garden center not only invites the citizens of Emden, East Frisia and the surrounding area, but also offers an exciting range for everyone who likes to be green.
The grand opening days, which take place from August 21st to 31st, offer numerous opening offers and promotions. The range is wide-ranging: from flowers and plants to garden furniture, decorative items and garden supplies – everyone will find something suitable for their home here. Managing director Jan-Philipp Ostmann is pleased with the new location and emphasizes the opportunity to offer exclusive products. Around 45 employees will do their part to ensure that customers can discover the best of nature in an impressive sales area of around 10,000 m².
Sustainability in focus
Particularly noteworthy is the garden center’s focus on sustainability. Thanks to innovative rainwater regeneration and photovoltaic systems on the roofs, not only is nature taken into consideration, but the environment is also protected. In addition, fossil fuels are avoided; the greenhouses are heated by powerful heat pumps. From September 2025, the garden center will also have charging stations for electric vehicles to support environmentally conscious customers.
Blumen Ostmann GmbH, a traditional family business with more than 70 years of experience and over 200 employees, is planning an important expansion with this new garden center. They are already active in the Oldenburg/Bremen region and have been a cooperation partner of the Dutch market leader Intratuin since 2019. This makes the garden center a real experience for garden lovers.
A market with potential
The garden market is booming, and not just since the pandemic. According to current figures, almost 30 percent of Germans regularly engage in gardening, and sales in garden centers are an impressive 19.7 billion euros. Flowers and plants are the product group with the highest sales, and the interest in garden supplies is reflected in the spending of garden owners. A third of them spend between 200 and 500 euros, and over a fifth even spend more than 500 euros. Plants such as summer heather and geraniums are particularly popular [Statista] reports that...
