Diakonie Kästorf celebrates 142 years: A celebration of joy and diversity!
In the Northern Germany region, togetherness is celebrated! On Sunday, September 7th, Diakonie Kästorf invites you to its 142nd annual festival. What is particularly noteworthy is that this year the 30th birthday of the Diakonische Betriebs Kästorf (D.B.K.) is being celebrated. Under the motto “Celebrate together!” Visitors can expect a colorful program that offers both entertainment and the opportunity to get together in a friendly atmosphere. [kurt-gifhorn.de] reports that the festival begins at 10:30 a.m. with a solemn service and lasts until 4:30 p.m.
The venue becomes the scene of many activities. Musical highlights are certainly the performances by LØUK, known from “The Voice of Germany”, and the group Angels Share JM, consisting of Jurek Karczewski and Morris Sharpe. The Moskito play circus will also provide great entertainment. Sporting challenges such as goal wall shooting with Wolfsburg's ex-professional Roy Präger and his Wolfi mascot are also offered, as well as tree climbing, glitter tattoos, can throwing and much more.
A celebration for everyone
Plenty of food is provided! From sweet to savory, visitors can look forward to a variety of delicacies, including cakes and bratwursts. Entry to the anniversary festival is free, which is another incentive to enjoy the colorful day.
But it's not just in Kästorf that people celebrate. The 176th annual celebration of the Michaelisstift will take place in Gefell on September 28, 2025, where a service and numerous activities are also planned. Here guests can look forward to games, fun and creative offerings. Your physical well-being is also ensured with coffee, cake and other delicacies. [diakonie-wl.de] also states that the festivities should last until the early evening and that if the weather is good, the service will take place outdoors.
Volunteering in focus
In Düsseldorf, on the other hand, the traveling exhibition “Making Volunteering Visible” will be presented in the Tersteegen House from August 29th to September 28th. This exhibition presents the diverse areas of application for volunteers and addresses the social significance of commitment. [diakonie-duesseldorf.de] informs that visitors can gain insights into projects such as language courses for German learners or creative offers for different age groups. The opening times of the exhibition are from Thursday to Sunday between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
The upcoming festivals in Kästorf and Gefell as well as the exhibition in Düsseldorf impressively show how important it is to get together and support people in different life situations. With this in mind, the organizers look forward to welcoming many guests and coming together in a festive mood!
