Orchid Cup 2025: Glossy victories and new partnerships in Celle!

On July 22, 2025, the golf club Herzogstadt Celle in Garßen beamed at this year's Orchiden Cup, a long tradition in Celler golf, all the more. With 62 participants, including 21 players from different clubs, the field became alive and offered exciting competitions in a beautiful backdrop.

The main sponsor of the event was the Sparkasse Celle-Gifhorn-Wolfsburg, while the company acted orchids Wichmann as co-sponsor. The tournament was played with Stableford in the Chapman four-man format, over a total of 18 holes. The event was organized by the dedicated team of women under the direction of Ladies Captain Hilke Benkhofer, who was actively supported by game director Martin Fröhlich. The well -kept facility on Beukenbusch and the culinary delights of club catering made the day a real festival for golf enthusiasts.

The gross winners of the Orchid Cup were Kerstin Grotzer and Johanna Plasa, who achieved first place with their impressive game. Heike Rachner and Andrea Falk followed second place as well as Monika Kawa and Dineke Zimmerling in third place. In net class A, for players with a handicap of up to 45.5, Sabine Fröhlich and Jeanette Feller secured victory. Renate Hiestermann and Ute Harnau as well as Bettina Schmidt-Kuhl and Anja Koppenhöfer were also able to look forward to the front places. In the net class B (HCP from 45.6), Ute Fieweger and Ursula Hoffmanns were the winners, followed by Bärbel Otterdahl and Ines Strupat-Frieg as well as Christina Liedtke and Marlies Ventker.

With regard to future events, the golf club Herzogstadt Celle organizes its open week for the 28th time from July 24th to 31st. The special thing about it: For all golf enthusiasts, whether members or guests, there is the opportunity to participate. In addition to the already booked orchid cup, a total of five different tournaments are on the program. Including the women's tournament, which will be held on July 26th.

Another highlight is the "Frieling Finanz Vierer" with 108 players, which is also fully staffed. In addition, there are also registration options for the tournaments "Wittinger/Ritzenhoff Cup" on July 24th, "Golf House Cup" on July 27th and the "Harz and Heide Tournament" on July 29. If you want to participate, you should register promptly to secure your place.

With over 90 registrations in advance it can be seen that Golf is very popular as a popular sport in the region and that the golf club has a good hand in this area. In August, the facility also expects another highlight event, the German Championship of the left-handed Golfer, which will further enrich the varied sports offer in Celle.
