Three sisters disappeared from Göttingen – clues urgently sought!

The disappearance of three siblings is causing concern in Göttingen. Kristina (16), Karolina (15) and Diana B. (14) have been missing since June 18, 2025. Her mother has already filed a missing person report with the police, but her whereabouts remain uncertain. The officers suspect that the girls are either in the city of Göttingen or in its surrounding area. In the past there were also indications that they had contact with Hanover. The police are asking the public for help. Information about the girls' whereabouts can be reported by calling 0551/491-2115, as Eichsfeld Nachrichten reports.

The current situation is particularly alarming as disappearances of young people in the region are not an isolated case. Just at the beginning of this year, a 15-year-old from the Grone district went missing. This missing person report was issued on January 2, 2025 and she was eventually returned safely. The young person at the time was around 150 cm tall, petite, with dark hair and usually wore a black headscarf. This return gave the police the opportunity to thank the population for their support in this matter, as HNA informed.

The background and statistics

The disappearance of young people is linked to various factors in society. According to the 2024 police crime statistics, there was a 1.7% decline in registered crimes in Germany last year. This decline is primarily associated with the partial legalization of cannabis, which led to a significant decrease in drug-related crime. Despite this positive trend, violent crime cases rose by 1.5%, reaching their highest level since 2007. The increase is particularly alarming among children and young people, with the number of suspected children increasing by 11.3% to 13,755 and the number of young people increasing by 3.8% to 31,383. These statistics make it clear that there is an urgent need for action when it comes to the safety of children and young people, as the BKA shows.

The current situation could be seen as a reminder of how important it is for the population to work closely with the security authorities. “Every little piece of information can be crucial,” said the responsible officials. The community's help is also strongly requested in the most recent missing person cases in Göttingen. This may ensure a quick and happy return of the missing siblings.
