Bright sunshine and happy faces characterized the 622nd shooting festival in Göttingen, which was led by senior shooting master Angela Linne on Sunday, June 22, 2025. The festive parade attracted numerous visitors to the city center and offered a colorful program from music and sport to traditional customs. The appearances of BSG King Jürgen Menke and BSG Queen Sara Linne could not be missed, who, together with BSG Young King Paul Vincent Menke and BSG Student Queen Jasmin Fulle, gracefully represented the youth.
The parade and the participating clubs
The event even attracted Mayor Petra Broistedt and many other prominent personalities, including council chairman Michael Höfer as well as chief conductor André Faulhaber and deputy chief conductor Irmgard Schönbach. Various clubs such as the Walkenried music club, the Witzenhausen marching band, the SV Scharnhorst and the naval comradeship were of course also at the start. The members of the Schönhagen Solling marching band provided musical accompaniment to the celebrations and created a great atmosphere.
A particular highlight was the active participation of the sports clubs. The Göttingen City Sports Association (SSB) invited all sports clubs to take part in the event. In the afternoon, the SSB, together with the ASC Göttingen, presented various sports such as line dancing, folklore, archery, basketball and gymnastics. In addition, the rope skippers from TV Roringen enchanted the audience with impressive performances. The SSB also provided a motif car for the parade and awarded prizes to the three most original club groups.
