Göttingen illuminates: Night of knowledge attracts masses!

Göttingen, Deutschland - last night, on June 21, 2025, Göttingen experienced the sixth edition of the "Night of Knowledge". It was a real spectacle that the citizens captured: inside his spell. At over 35 different locations, visitors were able to enjoy exciting insights into the world of science and research inside all age groups. Numerous special events, workshops and tours invited to actively participate and to quench the curiosity. The event was organized by the Göttingen Campus Initiative and a number of other universities as well as non -university institutions that offered a total of over 420 events.

The "Night of Knowledge" is a highlight of the Göttingen event landscape and not only offers the opportunity to experience the latest scientific knowledge up close, but also to learn. From science slams to exciting lectures to hands -on activities, there was something for everyone. Admission was free of charge, and a bus shuttle ensured the transport between the various venues, which made visiting the event a particularly pleasant experience.

Special attractions and security measures

A very special focus was on the security of the visitors: inside, especially when crossing the bridges. Some of the attractions were designed as optical delicacies: fluorescent liquids shone in bright colors and Teslas coils turned the night into a spectacle with light swords. These technical finesse in combination with the creative design ensured an atmospheric atmosphere that inspired both young and old.

The organizers had also paid attention to the participation of older people, because the desire for education and further education is known to be independent of age. The topic of "education in old age" also played a role in order to motivate this part of the population to come to the numerous educational offers. From a rich fund of projects in areas such as art, health and digitization, a variety of possibilities were presented that show how important learning is for all generations - a fact that is also more and more considered here in Göttingen.

The role of the GWDG

Another highlight was the participation of the Society for Scientific Data Processing (GWDG). Visitors: Inside, for example, a look behind the scenes of the data center was able to take more about artificial intelligence and exchange ideas with doctoral students from the GWDG. The events took place in the foyer of the Lower Saxony State and University Library at the Seven Seven Seven Savior Seven Square and offered a great opportunity to get into conversation with the scientists:
