Göttingen celebrates: Gänseliesel Festival with family rally and live music!

On September 28, 2025, the city center of Göttingen will be transformed into a lively festival area, and everything revolves around the legendary Gänseliesel. How HNA reports, the traditional Gänseliesel festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. At 4 p.m. the new Gänseliesel will be ceremoniously presented on the town hall balcony, giving the festival a very special touch.

As a highlight of the festival, there is also a Sunday open for shopping in Göttingen city center. The shops invite you to browse and shop from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event will be accompanied musically by the band “Honig und Hafermilch”, which will perform in the P-Café at Nikolaikirchhof. Piano students also have the opportunity to show off their skills at MERZ Pianos on Prinzenstrasse.

Family program and pleasure mile

At the Göttingen Dance Center, all dance lovers can look forward to a creative dance challenge for the whole family, which takes place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Meanwhile, little visitors can draw their dream vacation on a postcard at the Fairweg Göttingen Travel Center or answer a guessing question about the number of books at the Thalia bookstore.

There are also numerous hands-on activities: For example, you can carry out small experiments on the topic of electricity at EAM Netz in front of the Jacobikirche or take part in a challenge on the ball throwing machine at BG Göttingen. The mascot “Zuffi” will also be there to animate the children.
