Murder in the Reinhäuser Forest: Shocking details about the 15-year-old's trial!
In the tranquil community of Gleichen, a tragic case has shocked the local population. In the summer, the body of a 15-year-old was found in the Reinhäuser Forest, which was initially classified as suicide. Now, however, the situation has changed and it is assumed that it was a homicide. The background to this shocking act is currently being heard in court.
The 23-year-old defendant is at the center of the investigation and new details about her behavior have come to light. So she reported an alleged robbery that turned out to be completely fabricated. On June 30, the defendant presented herself to the police in Göttingen and reported an attack on Hanssenstrasse that she claimed to have experienced the evening before. She said she was attacked by an unknown person around 11:30 p.m. The public prosecutor, however, is pursuing a different theory: They assume that the defendant picked up the 15-year-old on the evening of June 29th and took her to the forest.
Shocking details
As the investigation shows, the defendant is said to have given the student a drink containing eye drops, which caused her to become heavily anesthetized. Between 11:35 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. at the latest, the girl suffered fatal injuries from a knife and bled to death. Interestingly, a young man from a youth welfare facility accompanied the defendant to the police, with whom she was supposedly looking for housing offers. But here too the story quickly became questionable. Police officers noticed inconsistencies: Neither the defendant nor her companion could locate the crime scene precisely.
What was particularly noticeable was that the defendant's cell phone was not logged into the corresponding radio cell at the time of the crime. It also took 40 minutes for her to enter the building after appearing in the police parking lot. Despite the initial doubts about the credibility of the defendants, the trial continues with excitement.
Number of homicides in Germany
Case-related homicides are neither rare nor unknown. While Germany ended 2024 with 285 reported murder cases, this is a decline compared to the early 2000s, when nearly 500 murders were recorded annually. The murder rate in Germany remains comparatively low at 0.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the clearance rate is an impressive 98 percent of all completed murders, as Statista reports.
In another incident, the Göttingen police homicide squad is currently looking for witnesses in connection with an attempted homicide that occurred on August 15th of this year. A 25-year-old man was injured on Jüdenstrasse in the early hours of the morning and investigators are appealing for eyewitnesses to come forward. In particular, a taxi driver who was driving on the road at the time of the crime could have valuable information, as the press portal emphasizes.
These tragic cases highlight the seriousness of the situation regarding violent crime and raise questions about security in the region. The citizens of the community of Gleichen hope for clarification and justice as the trial surrounding the fatal act and further investigations continue.
